Brewnuts Doughnuts with Jackie O's Beer
May 10
Meet the Bobcat behind the business that has been named one of the top 10 donut shops nationwide according to USA Today, OHIO alumna Shelley Pippin. Learn all about Shelley’s journey from Athens to Gordon Square while indulging on a flight of three mini specialty donuts paired with three Jackie O’s beer tastings.

Tickets are $20 and on a first come, first served basis. Please RSVP here by May 8. (Note: $5 per ticket will be donated to an alumni scholarship fund that gives future Bobcats the OHIO experience.)

Cleveland Bobcats Give Back: Run/Walk for Hunger
May 12
Join the Cleveland Bobcats team for the 30th Annual Run/Walk for Hunger, benefiting the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland. The walk/run begins and ends at the Great Lakes Science Center. Our goal this year is to raise $1,300 -- the equivalent of 5,200 meals! Get complete details and registration information here.

OUWC Spring Luncheon featuring Cynthia Calhoun of NASA

Enjoy the annual spring luncheon, which will include a presentation by Cynthia Calhoun entitled, "Yes, NASA is in Cleveland!" Cynthia is an OHIO alumna and Ohio University Women's Club of Cleveland member as well as an Aerospace Engineer Supervisor at NASA in Cleveland. OUWC will also announce scholarship winners and install officers.

Bobcat Cruise on the Nautica Queen

Take a picturesque dinner cruise with OHIO alumni and friends on the Nautica Queen in downtown Cleveland! The dinner cruise features an unlimited buffet meal (vegetarian options available), two drink tickets, musical entertainment and networking with fellow alumni. March Events

MAC Basketball Tournament

The OHIO men's team has been eliminated from the tournament, but the OHIO women play Miami in Cleveland on March 7. Tip-off is set for 2:30 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena. For more information, visit

Postcard Project

Undergraduate Admissions is seeking alumni volunteers for its annual postcard project. Through this campaign, alumni write short notes to congratulate 10 newly admitted students.  Most students are exploring other universities as well, and a postcard from a friendly OHIO alumnus can make a difference! 
Volunteers will be provided with postcards, postage, contact information, and suggested language for the notes. This is a fun and easy way to give back to the university, and more information about the project is available here:

Bobcat Caravan

The annual Bobcat Caravan comes to the Harry Buffalo in downtown Cleveland on April 10, at 5:30 p.m. Meet OHIO coaches and administrators, enjoy free food, win prizes, and more!

Karamu Theater Outing [EBN]

The Ebony Bobcat Network is presenting the play The Adventures of the Black Girl in Her Search for God at the historic Karamu Theater on April 13, at 7:30 p.m. A pre-performance reception is scheduled for 6 p.m.  
The play, based on George Bernard Shaw's short story and written by Lisa Codrington, follows a young African girl who is abandoned by a white missionary for asking too many questions about God. Taking matters into her own hands, she sets off on her own to find out who -- or what -- God really is. This venture leads her into some pretty interesting experiences. 
Tickets are $40, and proceeds will benefit the group's scholarship for students at Ohio University.

Ronald McDonald House Tour and Lunch [AAOUW]

Join members of the Akron Association of Ohio University Women on April 21 as they tour the recently expanded Ronald McDonald House of Akron and donate materials they created and collected for the benefit of the families staying at the house. 
After the tour, the group will head to Baxter's (205 S. Main St.) for lunch. The tour begins at 11, and we'll have lunch at noon. There is no cost associated with this event; lunch will be pay-as-you-go.

Remote Race

The Ohio Alumni Association Remote Race, presented by OU-HCOM,  is one of the five races that comprise the 7th annual OhioHealth Race for a Reason on April 21, where individuals race and fundraise for their own Reason.  
The Remote Race connects Bobcats who are unable to participate in an event in Athens. All you have to do is run (or walk) a 5K/3K in the month of April to get involved. Registration is $15 with $10 going directly to your Reason.

Spring Luncheon [AAOUW]

The Akron Association of Ohio University Women invites all Bobcats, family, and friends to the Akron Zoo!  On May 5, enjoy a tasty lunch, get some behind-the-scenes info on animals and activities at the zoo, and take advantage of free admission to the zoo for the rest of the day. The club will also recognize its scholarship recipients and induct its officers.
