Bobcats at the Ballpark: Photo Album

On July 25, OU and Kent State alumni, family, and friends gathered at Flannery's before heading to Progressive Field to watch the Tribe take on the Tigers.

We needed to add some OU and KSU flair to the party room.

Divided loyalties!

Your hostess and host for the evening . . .

OU alumni outnumbered Kent alumni at the pregame party. Bobcats are very social!

Congrats to Emily Weaver, Ronna Goldstein-Usmani, and Alison Candelaria, who won some OU t-shirts and a Completely Unauthorized OU Coloring Book.

The obligatory shot from the seats.

Everyone had a good time, even though the Tribe lost!

Mmm, jalapenos!

Pass on Your Bobcat Knowledge!

Fellow Bobcats —

Are you looking for a new way to give back to Ohio University?

College Now Greater Cleveland is looking for OU alumni to match with first-year OU students as part of its innovative mentoring program.

Although the time commitment is minimal, the impact is not: Mentoring makes a big difference in graduation rates, especially for students who are the first in their family to go to college.

To sign up, contact Anthony Battaglia at anthony.volmar.battaglia@gmail.com or 440-785-3327.

Thanks for supporting these new Bobcats!

Ohio University Alumni Association

College Now Mentoring Program Overview

Time Commitment
College Now’s mentors interact with students 2 to 3 times per month through a guided curriculum online/via e-mail. College Now also hosts group mentee/mentor events 3 times per year. The alumni chapter will offer a few special giveaways and/or events for OU mentors and mentees throughout the year.

Application Process
Mentors will need to complete an online application* and a brief phone interview as well as attend a one-hour orientation and submit to a background check (which College Now processes and pays for). Applications are taken year-round. Mentors will be matched with their mentees in July, at which point they will receive a virtual introduction to one another via iMentor. In August there will be a kick-off event where mentors will meet their mentees for the first time.

*The online application will not ask about mentoring an OU student specifically. During the phone interview, Ohio alumni should request to be matched with a student who will be attending OU.

Contact Anthony Battaglia, an OU alumnus who is an advisor with College Now Greater Cleveland, at anthony.volmar.battaglia@gmail.com or 440-785-3327.
